The Beginning

"Vote for what you believe in and what is right. Educate others about their right to voteand ignite the spark, to light the fire of change"

- Excerpt from a blog by Simran Pandey

As you all know General Elections is round the corner and all parties are making their plans, strategies, mind games , Campaigns, Do's and Don't to impress the common man and target as many votes as possible. The common man is not stupid enough. He hears to all their speeches, view their colourful posters, smiles when politicians come to their doorstep to ask for vote, watches the political discussion on TV and then on the day of elections .......... does two things

1. Cast his vote

2. Sit at home and enjoys the holiday

when asked this question to most of the people whom i have met, who are all educated and working with MNCs and other companies " Are you going to Vote???" and the answer i get are plenty.

1."I dint have a voter's ID"

2."I have voter's ID but thts of my native and i cant go there to Vote."

3. "I have voter's ID but i dint know anything about the politicians who are contesting in my constituency, about their background, Qualifications, things they have done and promise to do in the future."

This blog is basically to cater to the needs of the people who come under category 3. This blog would help people to know more about the politicans, their qualifications, background, achievements and non achievements.

The blog would not suggest, advice or answer any questions like

" Whom to Vote??"

"which political party to vote???"

and this blog is not supported by any political parties. As for as the content goes, its all my personal views and data collected through different media and websites .

  1. This blog is a good start.

My brother has to get an Voter ID issued. He was out of town when the drive was on. He did vote in the assembly elections after finding his name in the electoral rolls and using a photo ID. I will keep you posted.

Generally speaking, I don't think the trials of getting a Voter ID is not as bad as people make it sound. A Ration Card? Now there is a story.

There is no excuse for not going a few blocks out of your way to make sure your vote got counted.
